Art Robbins Instruments introduces the
Gryphon: This Microdispenser is a personal sized version of the Phoenix liquid handling system. By using a combination of interchangeable multiple syringe heads, pipette tip heads and non-contact dispensers, the competitively priced Gryphon provides increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Gryphon minimizes the amount of reagent volume needed and performs many microtiter plate assays. It is designed to be used in a bench-top lab environment.

The "Phoenix"

Art Robbins Instruments introduces the
Phoenix: a multiposition, high-throughput liquid-handling platform that incorporates a space-saving design with flexible dispensing options. By using a combination of interchangeable multiple syringe heads and non-contact dispensers, the competitively priced Phoenix provides increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The Phoenix minimizes the amount of reagent volume needed and performs many microtiter plate assays.
It is designed to be used in a bench-top lab environment. With all its capacity, the Phoenix is only 63,5 cm by 68,6 cm (25 inches by 27 inches) - a remarkably capable machine for its size that will greatly enhance the throughput of your laboratory.

 

Features

  • Nine assay positions: 6 source or destination plate positions, 2 reagent positions, 1 wash station position.
  • Removable, interchangeable heads: 48, 96, and 384 syringe configurations with volume ranges from 100 µl to 1 ml.
  • Two needle types available: Teflon coated stainless steel needles or flexible Nitinol (Nitinol = alloy of Nickel and Titan) needles. The flexible needles are not damaged if the head crashes due to a wrong plate type being placed on the deck.
  • Multiple dispense options: dispenses into 48-, 96-, 384-, or 1536-well plates
    and into many protein crystallography plates.
  • Reformatting from one plate type to another (i.e. 96- to 384- to deep-well etc.)
  • Optional micro drive non-contact dispenser: single nano dispenser to deliver volumes as low as 50 nl (96 drops/30sec) - particularly suitable for fast and reliable dispensing into crystallography plates. The sample is driven by air pressure. There is no system liquid to dilute samples and the air allows any excess sample to be recovered at the end of a protocol.
  • Bench-top lab use: footprint of 63,5 cm x 68,6 cm (25 inches by 27 inches)
  • Microsoft Windows-based Software. Simple drag and drop protocol creation.
  • Closed-loop motion control on each axis: verification of task completion via encoders on each motor.
